Al & Jane

When Al and I married, God used Al to answer my prayers. I had three specific ones, one of which to be able to sing. This was a strong desire I had since attending Southwestern Assemblies of God High School in Waxahachie, TX after going to the all night gospel sings in Fort Worth, TX. I was in a girl's choral group only because the music teacher was coerced by my wonderful friends to let me be in it. She worked hard with me to get me ready to travel on weekends with them.

In November of 1968, I moved back home to Oskaloosa, Iowa; the same time Al happened to come back home to Osky from the Air National Guards.

We met for the first time at church that same week. Six weeks later we married and that was the beginning of our life long journey together. It was on our way to Phoenix, AZ that Al reached for his guitar and found my key of "Z" and we've been singing ever since.

I discovered years after we were married that while I was attending Southwestern (1958-1961) and praying for the right person, Al was playing in what some now call Iowa's first Rock-n-Roll band. Little did Al or I know God was already at work 1000 miles on my prayers.

A year before we married Al was saved in a small Open Bible Church. A few years later after we moved to Davenport, Iowa we played in a band called Glory Road. We ended up traveling the Midwest 14 years singing the Gospel. Many doors were opened to us. We've been blessed to sing at various churches, camp meetings, revivals, prisons, fairs, and events; as well as being on the radio and TV. God blessed us in more ways than I ever imagined. After that we simply went by The Shroyers anytime we sang. However, since we're retired now we don't travel as much anymore.

We named our CD "It's a Miracle" because God has blessed us with so many miracles since we've been married. One of those Miracles is our son, Mark. It was a miracle because I found it was most unlikely that I would ever have children. God came through and He gave us a very talented son.

This CD project has been created for fun and for personal sentimental reasons. We wanted it for our own keepsake. Also, Mark wanted to have the opportunity to be creative with our recording. Along with his hard work, and God given talents, Mark played the drums, bass guitar, the piano and synthesizer parts, sang background vocals, and shared many of the lead and rhythm guitar parts with Al.

"Mark playing all the
instruments at the same time"

Al and I feel Mark has worked so hard many hours on our "It's a Miracle CD" that we want to express our thanks and appreciation to him. We hope all who purchase it will enjoy his hard work. Al and I are proud of his work and thank him for leaving us a legacy in which to remember and to share with our friends and family.

However, the greatest miracle is that Mark finally finished it with everything else he is pursuing. It took him nearly 4 years because he played all the instruments, engineered it, produced it, created the designs, created this website, and did most of the other technical details that goes into creating a project like this.

You will find a mixture of various styles of music on our "It's a Miracle" CD. The lyrics are all about the Lord… the music is various styles in which we trust you will find several songs you enjoy.

God bless,

The Shroyers
